Christina Praestgaard

Finnish painter and ceramic designer, has lived in Denmark since 1961.

Educated at Konstfackskolan, Stockholm, State School of Arts and Crafts, 1954 - 1958. Graduatetd with diploma.

Worked for over 30 years as designer and chief designer at two Swedish ceramic industries, and at her own Ceramic Studio in Denmark with produktion of unique ceramic art.

Exhibited ceramics in Denmark, the US and Germany.
From 1991 on, has worked exclusively with painting, and has exibited oil painting at galleries and museums in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Estonia, Holland, the Czech Republic and Japan.
Member of KKS, the Danish Women Artists Association.

Represented in the Collection of Modern Ceramics of the late King H.M Gustav VI Adolf of Sweden.
Received several scholarships, and was elected "Artist of the Year" in 1997 and 2000 by the Arbejdernes Landsbank of Denmark and in 2004 by the Gallery Jungersted, Denmark.
